What do we know about the Harper Governments Robo-Calls during the election campaign? We know that at least 14 MP's. including Dean Del Mastro, used an Ohio call centre (Front Porch) that is closely associated with the Republicans.

Why use an American call centre? Because they are outside the reach of Elections Canada.
We know that Front Porch made calls to Canada on behalf of Harper MP's using a Canadian roll over number so that the calls appeared to be from a local call centre.
It is not illegal to use a US call centre however since they are out of reach to Canadian authorities it does raise suspicions.
Legal or not I find it offensive that ANY Canadian Party would use an American firm to contact Canadian voters.
