Premiers right to oppose Harper government’s Canada Job Grant

I've posted my comments on Harpers so called "Job Training Grant" and apparently Canadians across the country, particularly conservative puppets, believed that there was a true plan in place..... well fools..... there is not.....

It’s no wonder the provinces want nothing to do with it. The Harper government announced earlier this year that it would claw back 60 per cent of provincial transfers for skills training, effectively killing many well-established jobs programs across the country. In their place, the feds vowed to create a $900-million grant program for employers looking to train people for particular jobs, which would be funded in equal parts by Ottawa, the provinces and the private sector.

Except the provinces were never consulted.

In other words, provincial governments have been asked to slash their own programs, some of which have been honed over decades; to relinquish their traditional responsibility for job training; and to find an extra few hundred million dollars in their budgets to contribute to an untested federal grant, which does not take into account unique provincial contexts and was designed without consultation and imposed out of the blue.

In typical Harper fashion he is using a 3rd World approach to running Canada and dictating to the Provinces.
